Rev V. Devasitham
I was born in a Hindu family. When I was two years old, I was affected by chicken pox. It was a curse in our family and every year one child will die due to chicken pox. That time my grandmother told that I have to be thrown away in the street thinking that I would also die. My mother decided to take me to a doctor, and it was a superstition that if I am taken to a doctor, my family god will be irritated and do many evil things in my family. But my mother decided to take to doctor still. And the doctor also could not do anything and fix a day for my death. At that time my mother got a vision of Jesus Christ with light which shined brightly and there was a voice ‘If I spare this boy, you have to dedicate this child for my service’. Then I got healed and my mother took me and left me in a Christian church in Thiruporur in Kanchipuram district of Tamilnadu. Because of this the doctors and my family accepted Christ as their Saviour.
I was brought up in a Christian way through church. After completing my schooling I was sent to Bible College and involved in God’s ministry. But during 2001 & 2002 before my marriage, I started a Tourist Travel Business having 2 cars. During week ends I would use the cars for church work and week days for business. After two years I met with an accident and my car which I was driving was smashed in a state that could not be repaired, but without a small damage on my body I was saved, but with unconscious condition. The Lord Jesus appeared to me in a vision and told me that He has given me life again which I should live for Him and serve Him. That time only I fully rededicated my life into His Hands. Then I was given an opportunity to serve 500 members in an Anglican Church (C.S.I) at Mangalore
